“Kiir will not remove even a single state”, Makuei

South Sudan Minister of Information Michael Makuei told the media that President Kiir will not reduced the number of the state as SPLM-IO demands as a requisite to formation of the Transitional Government. Eye Radio  Reports.

The fundamental signatories to the September 2018 harmony accord have neglected to arrive at an understanding planned for settling the argumentative issue of the number of states during the AU summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Machar demands states to be reduced back to normal 10 states but Kiir’s side is reluctant to “expel a solitary state”.

Information Minister Makuei expressed that the administration kept up its situation of 32 states in addition to Abyei Administrative territory and it’s not prepared at all to reduce the number of the current 32 states.

“Our position had been clear, that we are not prepared even to expel a solitary state,” Makuei told the media after the gathering.

“We are not prepared to evacuate a solitary state out of the 32 or more Abyei”, he added.

Both President Kiir and Machar are left with about fourteen days to frame an administration of national solidarity government.

The number and limits of the states are among the assignments that are intended to be finished inside the pre-transitional period.
